Foresting requires an axe, you can find a novice axe near the fairies in the GlitterGrove area of Last Island.

Once you have an axe, and you equip it, you can harvest log nodes, they are around the GlitterGrove area and look like this:

The Traders are located in the GlitterGrove area near the center tree. Each day they will offer to buy various virtual inventory items for points. The traders currently reset at approximately 3:30 am SLT.
